Live Oak Congratulates Ezekiel Richards…Our New Instructor of Jazz, Tap, and BOYS’ Dance
Ezekiel (Zeke) Richards has been a member of Live Oak Theatre since the age of eight, performing in dozens of shows. He recently distinguished himself as the featured male dancer (Albert) in our critically acclaimed production of NEWSIES.

Some of Zeke’s favorite roles are Edmund in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Peter Pan in Peter Pan Jr., Babkak in Aladdin Jr. and Mr. Brownlow in Oliver! Jr.
He has studied dance at Blackwood Studios for more than 5 years and is a member of their STAR COMPANY (a dance competition group). Zeke has distinguished himself in several competitions, including Pasco County's Spotlight on Talent 2021 where he received 2nd Place in Solo Category 5. Zeke was recently awarded 1st place in Pasco County's Spotlight on Talent 2022.
Most notably, he was offered and received a Full Scholarship to attend a Dance Collective Workshop. He has also received a full scholarship to the Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet summer intensive (worth $1200).
In addition to dance, Ezekiel takes singing lessons, and in his free time he likes to spend time with family and friends, practice piano, and read. Below is some information about the classes he teaches
Jazz – Ages 8-11, Young dancers will learn basic concepts of jazz. Dancers will learn jazz styles from different artists. Thursday, 11:00 – 11:50am.
Tap – Ages 8-11, Techniques in Tap with emphasis on form and aspects of performance. Learning Tap gives ear training and the ability to learn complicated rhythm patterns. Thursday, 12:00 – 12:50pm.
Boys’ Dance – Ages 10+, This unique class will provide boys with the necessary technique for the foundation and focus of ballet which will help them become stronger, more flexible, improve posture, and ultimately help them with other types of dances. Thursday, 1:30 – 2:30pm.
