Live Oak Conservatory Announces Open House and Registration for Classes

Live Oak Theatre announces that registration for classes at the Live Oak Conservatory will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Carol and Frank Morsani Center for the Arts, 21030 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, Florida 34601. The public is invited to meet faculty members and will have the opportunity to purchase shoes, tights, and dancewear onsite.

Live Oak Conservatory now offers up to 30 classes in dance, music, voice, and acting for all ages. A full list of classes can be found on its website at LiveOakTheatre.org.

Live Oak Theatre will offer a wide range of opportunities for children and adults to learn the performing arts. Some of the classes offered include: beginning and advanced tap, jazz and ballet, acrobatics, chorale and youth choir, musical theater, acting at various levels; a beginner’s group class for ages 13 through 18 on how to play the ukulele will be offered by veteran musician Dave Shepard. Times of classes will vary and there are a variety of programs offered for home-schooled children during the daytime hours.

There are adult classes in beginning tap and jazz as well as a yoga-based stretch class for adults This year’s program will feature beginning as well as intermediate and senior ballet classes under the direction of Ms. Kristin Bain.

The adult tap and jazz classes may be taken separately, and the jazz class will focus on Luigi Technique. Luigi, known as the Innovator of Jazz Technique, developed a method of "dancing from the inside" that is also rehabilitative. Broadway and Hollywood actors study at his studio in NYC.

Individual lessons in a wide range of musical instruments are also offered at the conservatory. All classes are taught by veteran performers and instructors. Dance instruction is under the direction of Miss Jane Russell Geddings, who came to the Live Oak Conservatory directly from the adjunct faculty of the Patel Conservatory in Tampa.
