Live Oak Conservatory’s Kat Burburan Expands Dance Classes to THREE Days a Week!

Live Oak’s Kat Burburan now teaches Lyrical, Stretch/Conditioning, Ballet (Beginner), Musical Theatre/Jazz, and Ballet (Intermediate) classes. Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays “The gifted Kat Burburan will teach an expanded ballet program,” said Live Oak Founder and Artistic Director Randi Olsen. “We’ll be offering more courses after school to make them available to more kids.”

Kat’s classes are as follows:

Mondays

Lyrical – Ages 10+, Using technique learned in ballet, students will train in expressive movement. Students will also engage in group choreography projects, learning how to create and teach movement.7:00 – 7:50pm.

Wednesdays

Ballet (Beginner) – Ages 8-11, This is a beginner level class, introducing students to ballet positions, movement, vocabulary, and barre work. Students will also be trained in body and space awareness, class etiquette, and strength building for success in all genres of dance.

5:00 – 5:50pm.

Musical Theatre/Jazz – Ages 12+, intermediate/advanced level dancers welcome. In this class, dancers will learn jazz styles from artists including Fosse and Jerome Robbins. This class will also focus on learning choreography and retention of choreography, with new combinations every week. 6:00 – 6:50pm.

Ballet (Intermediate)– Ages 12+, Students will already have a basic understanding of technique and vocabulary. Students will continue training in barre work and center, with a focus on rhythm and musicality. 7:00 – 7:50pm.

Thursdays

Stretch/Conditioning – Ages 8+, This is a class to build your strength and flexibility. It will help with all genres of dance, focusing on core strength and stability, stretching and lengthening muscles, and muscular strength to hold support flexibility. This class is for dancers of all levels, everyone is welcome. 1:00 – 1:50pm.

Ballet (Beginner), (1 credit) – Ages 8-11, Students will continue to train in ballet positions, vocabulary, and barre work. The focus is to increase technique and stability at the barre and center.2:00 – 2:50pm.

Ballet (Intermediate), (1 credit) – Ages 12+, Students will already have a basic understanding of technique and vocabulary. Students will continue training in barre work and center, with a focus on rhythm and musicality. 3:00 – 3:50pm.
