Class Descriptions
Acro (1 credit) – Taught by Jane Geddings. Ages 8-18, Works on tumbling, large motor skills, and traveling through space. Thursdays 3:00-4:00pm
Acting (1 credit) - Taught by Ron Dykes and Kevan Richards. Ages 9-18, Students explore the art of acting through the study of various dramatic techniques including: perfecting the monologue, theatrical movement, developing your character, perfecting your audition, understanding sub-text, scene study and analysis, perfecting humor, acting for commercials and more! Saturdays 11:00am-12:00pm
Adult Improv (1 credit) - Taught by Esprit Herbert. Students ages 19 & up learn the art of improvisation both in speech and movement. They will learn to think on their feet, to become confident in their actions and to go with the flow because in improv, anything can happen! Mondays 7:00-8:00pm
Ballet (1 credit) Taught by Andi Garner. Ages 12 & up, American Ballet technique. A style of classical ballet, seeks to develop essential skills in dancers as well as strength and elasticity. Mondays 6:00-6:50pm
Chorale (1 credit) – Ages 13-Adult, Vocal Arts Chorale is an exceptional ensemble for male and female vocalists who are serious about singing. Music of many styles and languages will be performed. Thursdays 5:30-6:20pm
Intro to Acting (1 credit) – Taught by Vince Vanni and offered the first 4 weeks of each term. Ages 8-18, covers basic elements of acting, terminology, proper movement, characterization, line expression, basic scene study, using humor, memorizing and delivering monologues, and more! Designed to prepare students for our Acting class, those who complete the course will be prepared to join the Acting class, and to audition for stage and video/film projects. Mondays 4:00-5:00pm
Jazz (Luigi method) (1 credit) - Taught by Jane Geddings. A training program that promotes body alignment, balance, core strength and "feeling from the inside". Also used for rehabilitation.It is the world's first standard technique for teaching jazz and musical theatre dance. Wednesdays 10:00-11:00am
Junior Dance Combo (2 credits) – Taught by Jane Geddings. Ages 6-12, elements of Tap, Jazz, and Ballet. TAP: gives ear training and learn complicated rhythm patterns. BALLET: Placement of the body and technique. JAZZ: isolations. Thursdays 10:30am-12:30pm

Music Appreciation (1 credit) - Taught by Bethany Carr is an introductory course to music theory, history and performance. Students will explore music's various functionalities in order to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for all types of music. Mondays 4:00-4:50pm
Musical Theatre Hip Hop (1 credit) - Taught by Andi Garner. Ages 12 and up. This dance class is geared towards Musical Theatre performers who would like to learn current technique used in many of the musicals that are currently on Broadway. Mondays 7:00-7:50pm
Pre-K Level 1 Dance & Acro (1 credit) – Taught by Jane Geddings. Ages 2-4, learning readiness program to develop motor skills, body awareness and basic tumbling skills. Fundamentals of Tap and Ballet. Tuesdays 10:00-10:45am
Pre-K Level 2 Dance & Acro (1 credit) – Taught by Jane Geddings. Ages 4-6, An extension of Level 1 Dance & Acro class. Styled for increased flexibility, strength, speed, balance, coordination and endurance. Introduces movement combinations requiring more coordination and concentration. Tuesdays 10:45-11:45am

Ukulele (1 credit) – Taught by Dave Shepard. Ages 13-18, beginners course in playing the ukulele. Schedule TBD depending on interest
Youth Theatre (4 credits) - Directors will rotate. Ages 8-18, a performance based Musical Theatre class where students meet twice a week to develop skills in Drama, Music and Dance as they rehearse and perform in a one act musical theatre production on our Live Oak stage. This class will rehearse and perform three musicals per year and be featured in Brooksville's annual tree lighting. Tuesdays AND Thursdays 4:00-6:30pm. Weekend performances.
