Judah Ben-Hur the musical is co-produced by YWAM (Youth With a Mission) of Tampa Bay and Live Oak Theatre. It is a magical tale of romance, comedy and adventure. The audience is invited to re-live the legend of Rome’s great character, the hate that nearly destroyed him and the love of Christ that transformed him. Under the helm of Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber’s former G.M., “Judah Ben-Hur” held its world premier at Singapore’s NUS Cultural Centre, where it ran for 56 performances. The musical has been pared down for touring with a cast that includes the original stars of the show and a dozen other seasoned performers (including credits off Broadway and London’s West End).
The New York Times has called the creative team’s work “spot-on” and “a seeming endless well of feeling.” MTV (Asia) reported that the songs from Judah Ben-Hur “are so catchy and memorable that you’ll be humming them on the way out of the auditorium.”
The New Paper calls Judah Ben-Hur “A razzle-dazzler like MISS SAIGON … and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Charlton Heston may have…charisma, but David M. Sanborn definitely makes a more delectable Judah Ben-Hur, and a more multi-talented one at that.”
