About Alice and the Looking Glass Loosely inspired by Lewis Carrol’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Alice and the Looking Glass is Live Oak Theatre’s original interpretation of Alice’s story. Keeping with the Live Oak tradition of providing positive theatrical experiences for the whole family, Live Oak Theatre invites you to take a trip with Alice down the rabbit hole and through the looking glass in this original musical adaptation of Alice and the Looking Glass. This full-length production builds on the story we debuted in last year’s season with new songs and additional characters. The first act includes 2 new songs and the brand-new second act takes place in a whole new realm of Wonderland where things are not exactly as they seem. Will she survive? Will she make it back in time for tea? Find out when you join us for Live Oak Theatre’s Alice and the Looking Glass. Audiences will enjoy Acorn Theatre performers’ rendition of original songs such as “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat,” “Rabbit Hole,” and “Wonderland.” About the Acorn Theatre Probably the biggest announcement of 2020 was the launching of Live Oak’s Youth Theatre program for students ages 8-18. Entitled the Acorn Theatre, our performance class meets to rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00- 6:30. The class will run in 8 week periods with 6 performances at the end of each term. The Acorn Theatre will work together to produce and perform 3 shows each year as well as participate in Brooksville’s annual Tree Lighting. The Acorn Theatre production team consists of rotating Directors/Instructors who are assisted by a team of apprentices in the areas of Stage Manager, Assistant Director, costumes, choreography, lighting, sound, music and set design. Parent volunteers are always welcomed in these areas as well. Acorn Theatre apprentices are chosen from regular performers of Live Oak who have “grown up” on our stage. They assume leadership roles in the production and mentor the students of the Youth Theatre.
