About The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a classic Christmas story that’s sure to give audiences the warm and fuzzies. It certainly did for directors Lindsay McTague and Katie Moore. (A tear or two may have been shed during the read through of the script.) This contemporary story begins with an ordinary family- The Bradleys. They go to an ordinary church, which puts on the same, ordinary Christmas pageant every year. That is, until, Mrs. Bradley is suddenly put in charge of the pageant. But who should come in and literally steal the main roles? The Herdmans- “the WORST kids in the whole history of the world”, as young Beth Bradley puts it. The whole town is sure the pageant will be a disaster. But Mrs. Bradley is determined to put on the BEST Christmas Pageant Ever. The Herdmans, who’ve never even cracked the spine of Bible, hear the Christmas Story for the first time, and are tasked with bringing it to life, “ordinary” isn’t the word ANYONE would use. But will this be the worst or the best Christmas pageant ever? The stage play was adapted from the children’s book, and later adapted into a movie. No matter how you first hear the story, your sure to laugh at all the wild antics of the Herdmans, and smile as you ponder the Christmas story through new eyes.
