For the last 35 years, “Miss Jane” has been a fixture in the Tampa dance and theatre teaching community. Her 16 year association with Dance Tree International set the standard for movement and dance education not only in the studio, but in establishing outreach programs in private and day schools. When Dance Tree left Florida in 2001, Ms. Geddings joined the faculty of All American Dance Factory, where she established the dance program for pre-schoolers. In 2013, she was invited to join the faculty of Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center, teaching in the dance and theatre departments. She serves as an adjudicator for Broadway Stars of the Future, a Straz Center initiative. In 2017, she also joined Live Oak Theatre as Resident Choreographer.
During her teaching career, Ms Geddings has had the opportunity to choreograph over 50 musicals; write and produce original works; travel nationally as teacher and artist; and work with students, colleagues, and peers, from age 2 to 92. Although she remains on staff at Patel Conservatory, Miss Jane has accepted, and is excited for, her full time position at Live Oak Theatre.
IT IS GOOD TO BE HOME!
