Live Oak Theatre Company to Hold Second Annual Performing Arts Camp in August 2011

Brooksville, Florida (April 7, 2011) – The Live Oak Theatre Company, a not-for-profit family oriented theatre company, will conduct a Summer Performing Arts Camp August 1-5 & 8-10, 2011.

The camp will have two weekly sessions:

August 1 – August 5, 2011 at the Bridge Church of Spring Hill

August 8- August 12, 2011 at the Eleanor Dempsey Performing Arts Center

Camp will be held from 10 am to 4 pm with an hour lunch. (Children must bring their own lunch, snacks & beverages.). Arrangements can be made for early drop-off. Tuition is $150 for either weekly session or $250 for both sessions.

Limited partial scholarships are available (see Scholarship Application form below).

The camp is open to children from age eight through 15. Special arrangements may be made for younger children based on interview and audition.

Children will learn various concepts of musical theater including:

  • Vocal technique
  • Song interpretation
  • Movement to music
  • Auditioning skills
  • Stage make-up
  • Acting skills such as:
    • Characterization
    • Improve technique
    • And much more

The faculty will include Randi Olsen, Ellen Sanborn, David Sanborn, and Vince Vanni.

All participants will have the unique opportunity to learn and rehearse original productions. They will learn and have the opportunity to develop a character from scratch and be able to learn how to “shape a production.”
