Live Oak Theatre has announced the following productions for its 2016-2017 season. Live Oak’s season consists of a fall and spring musical production and a special Christmas celebration. This season’s productions are as follows:

· Fall production – an original musical adaptation of Peter Pan will be presented November 4, 5, 11 and 12.
· December’s Christmas celebration will be the return of the Merry Medieval Madrigal Feast on December 9, 10, 16 and 17.
· Spring production – the ever-popular and well-known musical sensation, Wizard of Oz, will be presented on March 31, April 1, 7 and 8.

All Live Oak Theatre productions are family-friendly and feature adults and youth cast in age-appropriate roles.

Live Oak Theatre company announces that it will conduct an orientation to Live Oak Theatre and “How to Audition” program. The program consists of two, one and a half hour classes held from 6:30 to 8 pm on August 15 and August 18. The orientation program will be held at Fellowship Hall of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Completion of this program is a requirement to audition for children, young adults, and parents of children who wish to audition for Live Oak Theatre.

The instructor for this class is Vince Vanni with a special presentation for parents by Eric Kessel. Mr. Vanni’s students currently appear throughout the area in both amateur and professional venues. There is no tuition for these classes.

Those who successfully complete the program will be able to audition for Live Oak Theatre’s musical productions of Peter Pan, an original musical, The Merry Medieval Madrigal Feast, and the very popular Wizard of Oz musical. Auditions for all season productions will be held on August 20 from 10 am to noon at Fellowship Hall of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34601.

Live Oak Theatre announces that open auditions for its 2016-2017 season will be held on Saturday morning, August 20, from 10 am to noon at the Fellowship Hall of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Ave., Brooksville, Florida 34601.

Auditions for all season productions will be held at that time. Those who audition should prepare 16 bars from a song that shows their strengths and vocal range. A less than two minute monologue will be welcome, but is not required. Cold readings will only be used for call backs only.

Children, young adults and their parents who have no prior experience with Live Oak Theatre should have completed Live Oak Theatre’s orientation program. The program consists of two, one and a half hour classes held from 6:30 to 8 pm on August 15 and August 18. The orientation program will be held at the Fellowship Hall of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Both sessions are required to audition.

MEMBERS OF LIVE OAK THEATRE WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN LAST YEAR’S PRODUCTIONS NEED NOT ATTEND OPEN AUDITIONS. Simply indicate your interest in participating in this year’s production.

Those children who attended this year’s performing arts camp have already auditioned at camp and Live Oak Theatre already has their audition applications.

Season tickets for our 2016-2017season go on sale on July 19. A limited number of season tickets to all three of our productions are now available for only $50 each. Season tickets for children 13 and under are $20 each when purchased with an adult season ticket. Only 100 season tickets will be made available at this special price. A season ticket includes admission to all three productions:

· Fall production – our own musical adaptation of Peter Pan, with a full cast of adults and children cast in age appropriate roles. Peter Pan will be performed on November 4, 5, 11 and 12.
· Christmas celebration – due to the sold out performances of last year’s Merry Medieval Madrigal Feast, is being extended to two weekends this year. The Madrigal Feast, which is set up as a dinner show, will be performed on December 9, 10, 16 and 17.
· Spring production – We are very pleased to announce that we have secured the rights to the ever-popular hit musical, Wizard of Oz. Performances will be held on March 31, April 1, 7 and 8.

Single admissions to the fall and spring productions are $18 for adults and students 13 and under are $5 with the purchase of an adult ticket. The tickets include coffee, tea, and dessert. Tickets for the Merry Medieval Madrigal Feast are $25 and they include dinner.

Brooksville, Florida – The Live Oak Theatre Company announces that tickets are now on sale for its musical adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, The Secret Garden.
The musical, written by Marsha Norman, is an adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s 1911 novel. It tells the moving story of young Mary Lennox, who, after her parents die from cholera, is sent back to England to live with her uncle in his secluded manor in the English countryside. There she meets her sickly, bedridden cousin and finds a forgotten and neglected garden that she is determined to fix up and bring back to life.

Weekend Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, April 29-May 7, 2016. All performances will be held at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church at 200 Mt. Fair Ave., Brooksville, FL 34601.

Each show will be a dessert theater experience with seating available one half hour before each performance.

Live Oak Theatre to Hold Auditions for the Musical, The Secret Garden

Brooksville, Florida (January, 2016) – The Live Oak Theatre Company announces that auditions for its April production of The Secret Garden will be held on January 30 at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601. All auditions are by appointment only. Email liveoaktheatre@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

Those who attended the season auditions in August need not audition again. Call backs and casting will be based on both season audition and the upcoming audition. The roles of “Lily” and “Archibald” have been cast from the season audition. We are particularly looking for a male, age 35-55, baritone vocal range, for the role of Dr. Neville Craven.

Those who audition should prepare 16 bars from a song that shows their strengths and vocal range. A less than two minute monologue will be welcome, but is not required. Cold readings will only be used for adults who audition and for children’s call backs.

Children who audition and have no prior experience with Live Oak Theatre, should have completed Live Oak Theatre’s Basic Acting and Introduction to Live Oak Theatre program or Live Oak Theatre’s performing arts summer camp.

Brooksville, Florida (December 30, 2015) – The Live Oak Theatre Company announces that it will offer a program in Basic Acting and an Introduction to Live Oak Theatre. The program will consist of four one-hour classes, held from 6:30 – 7:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 12, 14, 19, and 21. The program will be held at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601.

Topics covered will be:

· Basic acting skills and principles of acting
· Theatre terminology
· Theatre etiquette and most important,
· Audition techniques and tips for kids AND parents.

Children eight years through high school are eligible. Those who successfully complete the program will be able to audition for Live Oak Theatre’s musical productions of The Secret Garden, which will be held at the end of January.

The instructor for the basic acting class is Vince Vanni with a special presentation for parents by Eric Kessel. Mr. Vanni’s students currently appear throughout the area in both amateur and professional venues.
